On January 8th,Sinning in LA showcased Arnor Bieldvedt's work in their online publication. Sandy Bottoms wrote: "[His work] is romantic and modern, possessing the unique quality of being able to fit into many different settings. The pieces could live in a bohemian, texture-full environment or could be the one splash of color in a minimalist space. The paintings are dynamic, seemingly simple at first glance but upon further study they become undoubtedly complicated and rich with multiple layers."

Sarah Faust's pieces in the gallery's Small Works exhibition receives a positive review in Newcity Art. Micael Weinstein writes:
"Chronicling her relationships with her severe-looking mother and her daughter, from pregnancy through the latter’s infancy and early childhood, Sarah Faust presents a psychodrama in clear yet muted color photographs that are dominated by the matriarch. There is not a crack of happiness in the succession of frames, not even when Faust puts herself in the picture, holding her child as mother checks out a cupboard. Faust crystallizes her feelings in a remarkable study of her mother—shot in profile—seated in a room, wearing a flowing dark dress and staring fixedly and sternly at a white curtain behind which Faust’s daughter stands with head bowed, ghostlike. Mother’s gaze is set above the little girl, indifferent to her presence. An abstract painting hangs on a wall in the background, and Faust has arranged her shot so that a blood-red serpentine line in the painting seems to be spewing from mother’s lips. There is a dimly lit knife on top of a dresser if viewers need any help to interpret."

"Return to the City,” a solo show of paintings by Terry Miura opens at Thomas Reynolds Gallery, San Francisco, CA.
"Images,” a solo show of paintings by Dennis Campay opens at Anne Loucks Gallery in the West Loop, Chicago, IL.
Darrell Roberts at the Chicago Art Examiner writes of the Stephen Dinsmore: New Paintings exhibition:
"Stephen Dinsmore's exhibition of selected paintings at Anne Loucks Gallery, Chicago is a refreshing surprise with a traditional mark of oil paint on canvas. Color and light is captured in small to medium size paintings, roughly 16"x20" to 24"x30". The looseness of the brush stroke and crispness of colors captures the ephemeral moment of time during the day. Interior spaces with the figure, exterior street scenes and the awe of nature are captured by his observational eye. Dinsmore's paintings have a historical devotion to the painters; Gwen John, Diebenkorn and the nightscapes of Whistler with the adherence to light as color. Anne Loucks Gallery has long been established in Glencoe and newly located a second gallery in the west loop gallery district at 1046 W. Fulton Market. A great space for traditional American painting."
